Learn Some Chumash

Check the calendar to see whats going on around town this weekend.  I personally recommend coming down to Baldwin Rd.  to see Jan Timbrook the author of Chumash Ethnobotany.  Learn what the Chumash and other local tribes ate, used for medicine, clothing, weapons, instruments, storage, and even games.   Virtually every plant you see out on the trail had an indigenous use and who knows you might still try some today.  And if that didn’t leave you breathless with anticipation I will be leading a short hike afterwards around noon starting from the Old Baldwin trailhead.  After learning all the cool useful plants you can see them in the flesh, Jan hopefully will join us.

Get out there and do some ramblin’
