Treehugger’s Tribune Vol. 2

Hot off the presses, the events calendar for March.  Get your garden groove on, flaunt your forest freak flag, revive your Mountain Mahogany mojo, belt out an Audobonic oratorio.

This week’s  Rambler Recommended volunteer event is a trailwork project with Heidi and Ojai Ranger district.  Break it down for us Heidi:

The project this Saturday is on the Pratt Trail.  Meet at the Ojai Ranger Station at 8:30 am and we will be returning around 3:30 pm.  Since we are driving up Stewart Canyon on an administrative road, all volunteers will need to come and go as a group.   The focus of the project will be brushing the first 1/4 mile from the parked vehicles, the spur trail to Valley View Camp and the main trail just beyond the Valley View turnout.   Total hiking distance is 3.5 miles.   Rain cancels event.

NOAA forecast Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 76. North wind between 5 and 10 mph becoming calm.

Please bring plenty of water, sunscreen and hat.   76 degrees can feel quite warm to hot if there is no air movement.

There you have it.  Saturday is chock full of events right here in our own backyard, so get ramblin’.  If you see anything I missed or know anyone who would like their events included on here please let me know ojairambler@gmail.com
