What’s Happenin’

Check the calendar as there have been some late additions.  Lanny will be leading a hike down at the river bottom, the Ojai Condor Sanctuary will have a rare open house, and the Ojai Valley Green Coalition will be sponsoring a creek restoration day down at Libbey Park.  From event coordinator David White:

Please come and help the Ojai Valley Green Coalition and the C.R.E.W.
restore the creek in lower Libbey Park in downtown Ojai. Restoration
dates are Saturday March 10th, March 24th and April 28th at 9:30 a.m.
The volunteer sign-up table will be next to the old jail building in the lower
Libbey Park. If coming by car, you can park at the lower Libbey parking
lot off of South Montgomery Street and follow the signs. Wear long pants
and long sleeves with closed-toed shoes or boots. We will have work
gloves, tools, water and snacks. We will be removing invasive non-native
plants and planting native habitat. For more information please contact
david@ojaivalleygreencoalition.com or call (805) 669-8445.

Reading through the press release one of the main projects will be to help eradicate the dreaded Himalayan blackberry

EEK.  I’d use gloves.  If none of the above sound that appealing we will be at the OVLC native plant nursery from 10-12am around the corner from the Ranch House.  Stop by and help out.
