Sale Details without Fail

We’re in a bit of a pickle over at the OVLC nursery.  With summer looming there are far too many gorgeous plants that will require three-times-weekly waterings and we (I) need your help.   Our cup doth truly overfloweth.

All of you to the rescue.  As if there weren’t enough ecofriendly events on Saturday,  we are throwing the first ever spring native plant sale into the fray.  From 11am to 2pm we will be hocking our botanical wares at the nursery site around the corner from the Ranch House, on Besant Road in Ojai.

Click here for a handy google map of the spot.

Along with the usual mugworts, coyote brushes and buckwheats I plan to feature among others:

Soap plant

Soap plant

I will have a bunch of 2” pots of soap plant for 2 bucks each.  Make your very own fish paralyzer!

Purple nightshade

Purple nightshade

They are currently blooming.  They want out of the pot BAD, so the leaves don’t look great.  Should get a few more months of bloom with some water.

Bush mallow

The mallows are awesome, start your very own colony

Hummingbird sage

Hummingbird sage

May or may not bloom this year, but plant one now and you’ll have 2 volunteers by next spring

Blue eyed grass

Blue eyed grass

I also have these in 2 inch pots for 2 bucks.  Might bloom this season

White yarrow

White yarrow

The real yarrow.  Replace your lawn, add another beauty to your medicinal garden

Bush sunflower

Bush sunflower

Encelia califonica, they can be frost tender in the first year but explode once established

Epilobium canum

Epilobium canum

These are gorgeous and ready to go, I guarantee blooms starting September

Most gallons will be 8 bucks.  Some smaller stuff is negotiable.

You know all the great things OVLC does in Ojai, not to mention the great new Valley View preserve.  Please come out and help us and spiff up your yard in one fell swoop.

From Buckwheat to Alfalfa, I love all those little rascals, and so do the bees, if you can find a few these days.
